So, last night and today I had an issue where my surface units would stop in the water close to the carrier instead of proceeding into the well deck as normal after being ordered back to the ship. Some units would be spinning in place, some would not respond to orders, others could not be put into manual mode.
In both cases I was able to resolve the issue through a combination of repeatedly re-issuing commands and attempting manual control to reposition units. Eventually, giving an order to load onto the ship displays an exaggerated loading path, like the normal one where the AI wants a healthy distance from the ship before starting the well deck approach but a good bit longer, which the craft did follow all the way into the well deck.
For some reason, when I had this issue today it clicked in my brain that the only thing I changed from normal amphib ops was turning my ship aft end toward the island so my craft would have an easier path to the well deck.
- In all cases, the ship was spun AFTER the return-to-ship order was given.
- In all cases, I simply click dragged from craft to ship so the pathing was 100% up to the AI.
- I've only experienced this glitch for Seals and Walruses as that's all I've fielded. Armaments were 30mm guns, missile launchers, and virus modules.
I'll play around with it a bit more to see what I can learn and will update.
