In VR at least, The map on the wrist screen will often zoom in and out and and change where it is focused as you are doing the same things other screens. What then happens is that when you next go to look at the map on the wrist screen, all you see is gray as it is focused on some extreme coordinates somewhere that would take too long to find the actual play area map from. At that point the wrist screen map is basically useless.
A simple fix would be to add a button or the option somewhere to re-focus or re-center the wrist screen map on the carrier again.
Of course the overall fix would be to prevent the wrist screen map from zooming in and out and panning as you are doing so on other screens.
