Like every simulation of the 90s, this one also needs a time accelerator. I really like being immersed in the game, but my playtime is limited and waiting 10 minutes for my drones to dock is unreasonable in single player mode.
A second requirement is also that there should be a way to see my units in 3rd person, as in the screenshots of the game. Like the fly through that was common with the Sims of the 90s.

You can always do other stuff while you're waiting. Coordinate logistics, have drones do recon on nearby islands. From what i've seen in this game if you're board you're just not being proactive enough.

An option for time acceleration would be a useful feature. While there is other stuff to do, it's not like it fills all the waiting time. It also opens the game up to other playstyles and being a sandbox game there should be more than one way to play it.
The original Carrier Command did provide time acceleration and I was expecting to see it in CC2 after seeing the promotional videos, which were clearly sped up.

I missed the bit about seeing units in 3rd person, as shown in the promotional video's for CC2.
External views were a thing that 3D sims did back in the 90's, and today (Stormworks does it).
If at all possible I'd really like to see a similar feature implemented in CC2. It would be a real shame not to.
