A recent vehicle experienced acceleration in the direction of motion, even when the engine was not on. The drivetrain consisted of two 5x5 suspension wheels on high-speed tread, connected to two sets of three 3x3 wheels without suspension on high-speed tread, each set with its own 2:1 gearbox, such that the 3x3 wheels spin twice as fast as the 5x5 wheels. The vehicle, once moving, would accelerate in the direction of motion, even from very low speeds. The effect increases with the speed of the vehicle, resulting in a positive feedback loop.
